CraftStudies’ Crafters-in-Training (CIT) are youth, ages 14-18, who are curious and creative, looking to develop leadership skills, and are seeking out a creative community this summer.

Crafters-in-Training work closely with CraftStudies Summer Camp teaching artists to create a welcoming, supportive, safe, inclusive, and fun learning experience for our campers. They do this by helping campers engage in hands-on creative processes, supporting individual campers, facilitating indoor and outdoor activities, and preparing and maintaining the studios.

In exchange for their volunteer services, CITs are mentored by CraftStudies’ expert teaching artists, who are all experts in their craft and are highly experienced educators. Additionally, CITs participate in camp experiences free of cost, have access to our studio resources and equipment, including Open Studios and Bench Time throughout the summer, and receive 50% off a CraftStudies class or workshop.
