Our Summer Camp team come from a variety of backgrounds, yet all are Teaching Artists, trained in their craft, with extensive experience in working with children. In addition, most camp will have a teen Crafter-in-Training (CIT) , who works along side the Teaching Artist to assist campers. A staff member will be actively present at all times during camp.
Each camp will have an administrative representative, either Lisa Brahms, Executive Director and/or a Camp Coordinator who will be your point of contact in case of emergency. You will receive their phone number in advance of camp.
-
Camps will be a mixture of creative hands-on learning, skill building, social interaction, and process-driven engagement, along with activities designed to engage the mind and body. We design our camps to include structured activities, and unstructured independent/ self-driven learning, taking advantage of both indoor and outdoor spaces, when possible.
CraftStudies places great emphasis and importance on the physical and emotional safety of every camper and staff member. We work to enable our campers to gain self-confidence and to have a positive, safe social learning experience.
Teaching Artists will review safe studio practices on the first day of each camp, as well as work with campers to set clear expectations that every camper will agree to follow to ensure a positive and creative learning experience for everyone.
Our goal is for every child to succeed! If you use any specific strategies that enable your child to participate positively in collaborative activities, or control their physical or emotional behavior in productive ways, please let us know!

Through the registration process, a parent or guardian has granted CraftStudies permission to administer first aid, and arrange for transportation to the nearest hospital by professional emergency personnel, in case of emergency.
To support children's safety and comfort, we ask that parents/guardians provide their ascent/release of CraftStudies’ liability on behalf of your child electronically through the registration process. If you have any questions about the contents of this release, please reach out to us at hello@craftstudies.org.
-
We ask that all electronics including video game consoles, tablets, eReaders, and cell phones be left at home. If you wish to send your child to camp with a cell phone, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
-
If your child is experiencing any symptoms of cold, flue or COVID 19, please do not allow them to attend camp. If a camper exhibits symptoms, the parent/guardian will be called and the child will need to be picked up by the parent/guardian as soon as possible.
Please contact the Executive Director and Camp Coordinator immediately if you believe your child is experiencing symptoms.
If a child does test positive for COVID, we ask that they test negative before returning to the studio.
In an effort to keep all children healthy, campers will wash hands often with soap and water.
Campers are not permitted to share food or drinks, and we ask that all campers bring nut-free snacks.

CraftStudies Summer Camp is a child drop-off camp. In order to foster a cohesive experience, camps are for registered participants only; therefore, adult guardians and non-registered siblings or friends cannot attend.
If your child requires one-on-one support, we welcome them to attend with an aid (provided by you) at no additional cost. If this is the case, please contact us at least 10 days before your child’s scheduled week of camp.
-
CraftStudies’ week-long camps are designed so that each camp day is structured to build upon the experiences of the previous camp day. Active participation and attendance of each camp day will ensure your child has a full camp experience. Partial registration is not available, but we understand if you child needs to miss a day or two of camp.
