Joy Raskin has been a silversmith since 1984, and has exhibited throughout the US, Ireland, and New Zealand. Joy is a native of NH. She was accepted as a member of the League while still in high school. She received her BFA from RISD, and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. In addition to teaching at CraftStudies, Joy is an instructor at the Craft Center of the LNHC (Concord, NH), Metalwerx (Waltham, MA), at Brookfield Craft Center (Brookfield, CT), at Guilded Lynx (Ridgefield, CT), Silvermine Art Center (New Canaan, CT), and Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (Lexington, MA). She was commissioned by the NH State Council on the Arts to create the Cultural Access Award for the Governors Awards in the Arts in 2001. Her work is included in many collections, including the White House, Smithsonian Institution, the permanent collection at the Currier Museum of Art, and Racine Art Museum.
