Michael graduated from the University of Wisconsin and went on to graduate school at Rhode Island School of Design. He moved to the Upper Valley and taught Art at Lebanon High School. During this time, he buildt a glass blowing studio and eventually was able to work full time in the studio he now shares with his wife and art partner, Susan Russell. Michael became very involved with the “Artist in the School” program sponsored by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and continues to facilitate school residencies programs today. As well as studio work, and teaching for CraftStudies, Michael is a long-time drawing instructor at AVA Gallery in Lebanon NH.
