Intermediate & Advanced Jewelry Design: Keumboo

  • CraftStudies Studio & School 87 Maple Street Hartford, VT, 05001 United States (map)

Sunday, April 6, 2025 | 10A - 4P | One-day workshop | $175

Keumboo is an ancient Korean art of applying thin gold sheet or gold fill onto silver and fusing the gold to silver. It is a way of adding color and gold at a lower cost to silver than to use gold sheet and yet it adds to the value of jewelry. We will be using pure 24kt gold foil and bonding it onto silver sheet, using a hotplate and burnishers to press the gold into the silver using heat and pressure. We will also explore surface embellishments such as power printing, stamping, hammering, and more.

Bench Time: 1 bench time is included with your registration. Look for the bench time registration code on the class confirmation page.

Supplies: Materials are not included with registration. Estimated supply fee of $20 - $75 per student is payable to Teaching Artist on the day of the workshop.

Teaching Artist: Joy Raskin
