Alex’s many interests are unified around his core principle as an educator— that students learning new skills feel supported, included, and welcomed into spaces they may or may not have explored yet. An educator by training, Alex splits his time straddling the academic world as a teacher and administrator at Dartmouth and Colby-Sawyer College as well as running Coppermine Woodworking, a custom furniture business. He has been a woodworker for over 20 years producing custom furniture throughout the Upper Valley.
Teaching woodworking is a fun way to help people learn new skills, build confidence, and aid in nurturing their artistic impulses. The goal of every class is to have fun in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Coppermine Woodworking, LLC
Nestled in the hills of Norwich, Vermont, Coppermine Woodworking, LLC was formally established in 2020, but was a long time coming. We have been engaged in custom woodworking projects for over 20 years ranging from kitchen cabinets, built-ins, bookcases, tables, furniture, wedding presents, gifts, and more. We work with a range of different species, but prefer native New England woods that are sustainable, durable, and beautiful.
